Why we shouldn't be allowed in public (with a side of redneck)

These pictures are a little blurry but too good to miss out on. (The first two are ESP. for Taylor.) Josh got these new waders for his upcoming fishing trip at the coast. Yes, we are a little W.T.

and here he is doing a jig just to show me how comfy they are (I'm sure our neighbors had choice words about these actions in the front yard)
And then Jack wanted to do a jumping picture too.
"Take picture Jack-cheeeeeeeeeez!!!" (he repeated it about 100 times)
And the shaky face game.
And only because I've never taken a jumping picture. So here goes.....

This is how we roll

A few pictures as of recent for all our readers (but esp. Aunt Taylor)

One of the few toy guns in our house (a couple water guns and this bubble gun)

She's a jack of all trades- goes from being a cowgirl to a princess

Back to reality

After spending 8 days at the beach we're back to reality.

*Can tomatoes (I have 6 huge boxes waiting to be put up!)
*Make salsa (and can it too!)
*Do yard work (spread pine needles, weed, etc)
*finalize fall daily schedule
*grocery shop (Monday)
*Homeschool Storytime (Thursday)
*Iron (all the clothes are clean- just need ironing)
*Fold clothes (clothes clean- just need folding)
*Get some motivation to exercise

All of that plus more-----AND there are a few ladies due. :)

What we've been up to......

*swimming
*playdates
*cleaning
*running errands
*finishing up planning next school year
*going to births (me!)
*doing handyman/remodel work and building houses (Josh)
*pioneer day activity at church
*picked corn and put away for the year (TODAY!)

You too can let your three kids ages 6, 3 and 1 make ice cream totally by themselves.....

See- and then they'll eat it all too- and not share a bit with you!

Step #1: Gather all your ingredients.

*1 cup cream (or cold milk, or cold coconut milk)

*1 teaspoon vanilla (omit this if using coconut milk)

*2 teaspoons sugar

*4 cups ice (not in the picture)

*4 tablespoons rock salt (ice cream salt)

*2 ziploc bags- use the freezer kind so they don't get a hole in 'em (either both gallon sized or one gallon sized and one quart sized)

Step 2: In the first bag (quart sized if you are using that size) dump in the cream/milk, sugar, vanilla. Close that bag on up (squeeze out most, but not all, of the air).
Step 3: Fill the bigger bag with the ice and the rock salt. Kinda mix it all around in there. Now put the bag with the ingredients in there and close up the ice bag.
Step 4: Shake it.
Step 5: Give it to your little brother to shake it (and throw it on the sidewalk).

Step #6: When you feel the bag of cream and stuff get hard you've got ice cream!! Take the ice cream bag out of the ice/salt and RINSE IT OFF!!! Otherwise you'll have salty ice cream and if you like salty ice cream- ewwwwwww! Enjoy! You can also throw other things in there with the cream mixture (chocolate chips, melted peanut butter, berries, etc)

Having a hard time finding joy in this.....

....GRRRRR!!!! Morgan (yes, she's 5) cut Raelyn's hair (she's 2). Not where it's hidden either. I don't know whether to laugh or cry (ok, I really want to yell-but I've been trying to limit that to really serious things) There are 3 places where she cut it- SHORT- it's really blocky and I don't know any other way to hide it other than a million clips. One layer she cut is on the side and I have no way of hiding it. One is cut right at her eyebrow (which you can see in the picture) and the third is pretty short on the same side that the eyebrow length cut is. You can see it in the picture if you look close- otherwise it just looks like light shining a weird way. Oh well.....what's done is done.

This was the best Mother's Day yet- relaxed, wonderful, with the people I love- could I ask for anything more?!? Josh gave me an orchid corsage to wear to church.
